Filling the Blog Vacuum..

Just came back from Brisbane after a quick check on the unit, yes its still there, no the garden has gone (dam you water restrictions), and a hello to the parents in-law.

I did manage to get into some major nerding with a friend who works for the Queensland constabulary. Dropped back the first 6 issues of the Joss Whedon written X-Men miniseries (which I have had for about 6 months) and picked up the remaining issues.

Mr Kung Fu, have you read them? Seems that Joss finished reading the X-men when I did, so the story is very circa 1986. He even resurrects dead characters just to round out the ‘everything old is new again’ vibe.

Walked out with the graphic novel ‘1602’. (BTW, can you say ‘Graphic Novel’ without sounding like your in deep denial about reading comics? I read an interview with Natalie Portman which asked if she read the original ‘V For Vendetta’ She replies that she read the graphic novel. She goes on to say that it was published in ‘instalments’ in the 80’s and republished as a book in1988. She also refers to it as ‘Alan Moore’s novel’ –Bloody hell call a spade a spade. Natalie reads comics!)
Anyway, I read the big, thick, glossy, COMIC ‘Marvel 1602’. It transplants the Marvel Universe circa 1965, back 1602. Kinda cool premise, remains to be seen how its going to end.

And lastly, the complete ‘Family’ guy collection.

I have 3 weeks off after the 8th of April, guess what I am doing?

More soonish, (unless my brother shames us ‘1 post per quarter’ bloggers again)

I don't shame.

I spur.

Yep I've read the Joss x-men. They are trying to forget the 90's ever happened and the "Kewl" xmen that had no actual depth - just BIG GUNZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

At least Natalie knows it was published as a serial first.

Did you know that the Fate computer was designed by tht reality's Emil Gargunza? he designed on in the MM reality too - but it never became the backbone of a government.

(I should mention thatthe FATE computer isn't in the movie)

I bored emma to tears after we saw veef last night with reading her my favourite bits from the comic.

V is horribly scarred in the movie - so that's why he wears the mask.....not happy.

You should just come to my house on your holiday Paul - I've got the family guy DVDs - and wonder woman, and all the Ghost in the shell, and...well you get the idea....and it's really nice here then.

:-) I'll send your simpsons figurines today.
